The shea parklands face threats from deforestation, unsustainable harvesting and climate change.
These pressures threaten the livelihoods of thousands of rural women who depend on shea.
02Our intervention
Through the Sustainability Shea Initiative, DFWC promotes environmentally responsible practices that protect shea resources while strengthening livelihoods. Key activities include:
- Climate-smart agriculture training
- Shea tree conservation awareness
- Tree planting and ecosystem restoration
- Training women in sustainable harvesting
